A big tree in Watts-Hillandale
This post is dedicated to one of the largest trees in Durham's Watts-Hillandale neighborhood, this tree will be familiar to local residents, as well as to anyone who has attended The North Carolina School of Science and Math. Our huge, green friend lives on Maryland Avenue. It graces a small field just across from what was formerly the hospital's and now is the school's driveway.
Across the field towards Maryland Avenue
Here one can see the school of Science and Math in the background
Some perspective on girth
Up the side of a monstrous trunk
Countless creatures must have traversed these microcosmic canyons.
